We started Forward for one reason, and one reason only. To get healthcare to the people who need it most.
Forward is a startup redesigning the way we deliver healthcare using all the technologies healthcare has neglected: sensors, mobile, and AI. We were founded in January 2016 by former executives and engineering leaders from Google and Uber and led by serial-entrepreneur, Adrian Aoun. We are funded by some of the world's best investors and entrepreneurs including First Round Capital, Eric Schmidt (Google/Alphabet chairman), Marc Benioff (Salesforce founder), Joe Lonsdale (Palantir founder), Joshua Kushner (Oscar co-founder) and Garrett Camp (Uber co-founder).
We're going after big goals, and that requires a strong team. We're genuine, we're candid, and we're focused on our mission. We are all working for something greater than ourselves, and believe nothing is as fulfilling as hearing how we've saved or changed a life for the better. Whether through our work with community volunteer programs, matched donations, or our sponsored membership program (providing free primary care to those most in need), we're a team that's energized by giving back.
It's no secret that healthcare is facing major challenges. For us, the problem is personal. Each of our founders experienced a close friend or family member not getting the care they should have. Those experiences inspired us to create Forward. Our goal is to combine the best aspects of physicians – judgment, empathy, and experience - with the best aspects of technology – scalability, cost and convenience – to bring higher quality, lower cost healthcare to as many people as possible.
Our success depends on our speed of learning. As a company, we constantly seek understanding, share ideas and information, and challenge collaboratively. We actively invest in employees' personal growth through initiatives such as leadership trainings, women's workshops, bi-weekly lunch and learns, in-office fireside chats from industry leaders, and annual learning stipends for employees.
